jaws not announcing wlm messages anymore

hi all, for whatever reason, jaws isn't announcing messages and some wlm alerts anymore. i've tried restarting jaws an the pc, removing the modified wlm scripts which i never modified, weird, and made sure the option was enabled in jaws verbosity.

any more ideas?
